According to Government priorities and conditions set within the frames of PDPL3 arrangement (Policy Development Project Loan) funded by the World Bank, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance has signed the contract with the first-ranked consultant, Hernan Fuenzalida Puelma. Mr. Hernan Fuenzalida Puelma is engaged through the Dutch Trust Fund, and form 6-21 December 2007 has realized his first visit to Macedonia. During his stay in Macedonia he had several meetings with the Deputy-Minister, lawyers and other stakeholders from the Ministry of Health. Also, the Consultant paid a visit to the Special Surgery Hospital “St. Naum Ohridski” in Skopje in order to discuss the current problems and needs for eventual legal changes that will help the establishment of autonomy in the public health care institutions. In consultations with the World Bank representatives, it was decided this Law to refer tho the hospitals, since the privatisation in the primary health care defined a lot of legal regulations. At the end of his mission, the Consultant has delivered his Inception Report, which was distributed to all persons involved in the activity for comments.
