Ministry of Health, on 22 and 23 December 2006, has organized Strategy Health Summit in Mavrovo. The goal of the Summit was to unite all stakeholders in the health system to define priority activities and directions in order to successfully realize planned program solutions of the Government of RM and Ministry of Health.

Government’s and Ministry’s efforts to create a better health system where all citizens will have equal right, but also better self-responsibility in taking care of their health as a social welfare. To realize that goal in the next four years, it will be targeted towards quality improvement and increasing the transparency and efficiency in the health system.

70 participants were attending the Summit from the Ministry of Health, Health Insurance Fund, Clinical Center Skopje, Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Faculty, top representatives from Doctors’, Dentists’ and Pharmacists’ Chambers, as well as Consumers’ Organization and Health Syndicate. There were also representatives from Ministry of Education, World Health Organization, World Bank and other active participants in the health sector.

As a summary of the Summit came out the main ideas, which were delivered to all key stakeholders in the health sector. Those ideas are firm guidelines in the development of the future health system. All representatives evaluated the Health Summit as a very successful event that should be organised every year.
