Project Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Health in cooperation with Health Insurance Fund and technical support of International consulting House “Karl Consulting” has organized Trainings for DRG Coders. The trainings took place on 20 and 21 December 2008 at HIF conference room (30 participants per day). The trained coders gained experience in the list of diagnosis and procedures, coding specifics, primary experience from Macedonia and practical coding exercises. The first day was attended by representatives from the Clinics and Hospitals in Skopje – internal medicine fields, while the second day, participants were representatives from 16 Clinics in Skopje particularly from the surgical field.
On 27 and 28 December another 60 coders passed the training session. The participants were representatives from 20 hospitals from throughout Macedonia. The trainings were held in Municipality High school “Taki Daskalo” in Bitola, and the lecturer was international consultant Mr. Josko Gregurevic from Croatia. The Deputy Minister and Principal Coordinator of the Health Sector Management Project, Vladimir Popovski, MD, Ph.D attended this event.
