Project coordination Unit has organized a Workshop on New Public Health Law in the Republic of Macedonia. The workshop was held today, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, from 9.00 – 12.00.
Participants at the Workshop were Prof. Vladimir Popovski, MD, PhD, Deputy Minister of Health and Principal Coordinator of the Project Coordination Unit, Mr. Azis Pollozhani, MD, Director of Public Health Institute, Mr. Janez Jelnikar, Director of HIF, representatives from the World Bank, Public Health Institute branch offices, and Ministry of Health.
Mr. Kees Schaapveld, international consultant engaged through Component 1: Policy Formulation and Implementation, of Health Sector Management Project had its presentation on possible framework of the new law. He emphasized that besides national specifications in the development of the new Public Health Law, the international health regulations need to be also foreseen.
The first draft version of the Law is expected to be completed by the end of March 2009.
